Shaxi, historical market town
Shaxi is an historical old town. In 2001, the World Memorial Fund for Architecture (WMF), an international fund for the protection of world heritage sites announced that Shaxi has been added to the list of internationally significant sites, together with the Great Wall, the Ohel Rachel Synagogue of Shanghai and the Christian Pagoda, and the Monastery of Shaanxi Province.
Shibao Shan (Mountains and temples)
25km southwest of Jianchuan County Town in Dali. Mount Baoding, Mount Shisan, Mount Shizhong, these are three parts can make up of whole Shibao Mountain; it is the total areas of 20 km2. The highlights of landscape in Shibao Mountain. Haiyun Monastery, Baoxiang Temple and Shizhong Temple. The Haiyun Monstery is the first Buddhism Temple in Shibao Mountain. During the 3 days from 27 to 29 every lunar month, people sing love songs in the Baoshan temple. There is keeping with tradition. There is huge bell-shaped sandstone on the Shizhong Temple. So the Baoshan Mountain is one of the famous landscapes in Yunnan province.
Cangshan, overlooking Dali and the lake
Cangshan Mountain stands majestically in the west of Yunnan,forming the major part of the Sourthern Yunling Mountains. It overlooks the Erhai Lake in the east and faces the Heihui River in the west, the 19 peaks of the Cangshan Mountain, the average elevation of the peaks is above 3500 m, the peak Malong, which is the highest, is 4122 m high and snow-capped all the year round, on the top of the Cangshan, there are horse washing pond, Black Bragon Pool, between the peaks are streams rashing down eastward, forming splashing waterfalls and overlapping springs, and finally emptying into Erhai Lake. These streams constitute the famous 18 steams of Cangshan mountain.
Weibao Hill, museum for research on the architectural art
The Weibao Hill is located Weishan County. it is closed to city of Dali for 70 km. The Weibao Hill in the suburbs is the largest Taoism resort in Yunnan Province and also one of the important Taoism mountains in the southwest china. On the hill there are over a dozen ancient buildings a rounding to areas of 30 km2, such as the high lord hall, the Wenchang palace, the Longtan palace, the hall of three emperors, the white tower, etc. ...
