Wenhai Lake
Wenhai lies northwest of Lijiang city, nestled in a sub-alpine valley, against the towering backdrop of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain peak,lies Wenhai Lake and neighboring Wenhai village. The village of Wenhai surround the Wenhai lake, Wenhai is located 3000m above sea level, was established in this valley over 300 years ago. Wenhai is a undeveloped area, most close to Jade Draon snow mountain and peaceful area! You can hear nothing besides the cow, horse, pig, dog…Wenhai is one of most important grazing grassland for during the Tea Horse Road. In 2002, Wenhai had a total population of 798 people, from 217 households. The “Upper” and “Lower” villages near the Wenhai lake are inhabited by the Naxi, while Yi people live in villages to the north, further up the mountain. The local Yi and Naxi people still keep their traditional custom and life, normally their speak their own language, wear the Yi and Naxi traditional clothing.
Baoshan Stone Town
Baoshan Stone village is located about 110 kilometers north of Lijiang. The highest altitude around Stone Town is 4600 meters, the lowest altitude is 1600meters, so Baoshan Stone village is almost 3000 meters deep, Baoshan Stone Village was built in the late 13th century, the Naxi Yu Clan (ancestors of Mu families), first lived and multiplied here, then migrated down into the Lijiang plain. Before in order resist the enemy‘s invade, in hundreds’ years, no any army use the force to overcome.
Shigu Town in Lijiang area
Stone Drum town(Shigu) gets its name from a large marble table that is shaped like a drum。The drum is an engraved memorial that headman Mu gong。Established to honor his victory over the northern Tufan。Army，in 1548。
THE STONE DRUM TABLE
The Stone Drum Table has a crack across it。The local people believe that the crack exised ever since the stone was formed and during warring periods of history the crack would open up。Then during peaceful time the crack would close。
FIRST BEND OF YANGZE RIVER
This is a spectacular view of the Yange River，As the Yangze River approaches Stone Drum Town ，it takes nearly a 180 degree turn from south to north。Through—out history 。this has made Stone Drum Town an important military site。
