Baishui Tai, natural terraces

Baishui Tai is located in Shangri-La area, it is far from Shangri-La town about 101km, the altitude is about 2380m. It is the birthplace of the Naxi ethnic minority’s Dongba Religion, it is very important for Naxi people. Every Lunar Feb. 8, many Naxi people from around come to celebrate the “Sanduo Festival Days” in Baishui Tai, they do picnicking, dancing, singing and praying for the harvest, good lucky in the coming year!
Springs here, high in calcium carbonate run down the mountain slope forming terraces covering an area of 3km. It was saying: Baishuitai was the fields left by the fairies for Naxi people to learn how to farm, so now looks there are many fields together!
