The New York Times : A Village Preserves a Shangri-La

Ting-Li Wang/The New York Times : Children returning from school in Wenhai Village. The English words carved in stone beside the road - "Following Joseph Rock's steps to Shangri-La" - seemed entirely appropriate. This place really did look like paradise.
